Color tests & finished egg bowl

Unfortunately, a lot of the things coming out the kiln after being glazed are losing their color. I’ve changed the stains I buy to ensure they’re labelled high fire, especially the red stain, as it basically disappeared in firing. The blue is very strong, so instead of losing less and having to remember the percentage I use, I’m going to buy a different one (less primary blue and more sky blue).

I mixed the colors to see how they’ll turn out, as it seems mixing instead of buying the color outright seems to make the color duller.
(pink - purple - orange - green)

Even though the colors don’t stand out as much as I’d like them, I think overall my egg bowl visually looks good. I asked a few people, and it seems they do mostly recognize it as an egg pattern, even if not an embryotic one like I envisioned it.
